Developing your ideal landscape that fits with your lifestyle starts with a professional on-site consultation. This is our opportunity to sit down with you and discuss your ideas, review your outdoor space and understand your hopes and dreams for your landscape project.

We pride ourselves on our creative planning and ideas, and we welcome yours as well. Bring your ideas, thoughts, examples of design concepts, and we can work together to develop a plan that fulfills your vision and fits with your busy lifestyle. Our goal is to ensure you can spend more time enjoying your backyard and less time maintaining it!

Your plan can be as general or as detailed as you wish. If you’d like, we can provide recommendations on everything from specific plants to materials and other products.

Landscape Construction

All construction is performed or supervised by our own qualified specialists, designers and crew. We ensure that your construction expectations are not only met but exceeded.

While the majority of the construction is completed by The Gardener Landscaping team, certain tasks such as paving will be outsourced. We use only qualified and approved specialists and companies that we have been using for many years with success and that meet our exacting standards.

Our Design Process

The Gardener has created a 7-step approach to ensure you get the landscape you’ve always dreamed about. Of course every project is different, and our individual approach will vary according to your needs.

1. Initial meeting

We will arrange to meet for an informal review of your goals and expectations and answer any questions. In addition, we will schedule a site visit to discuss ideas, needs, lifestyle, budgets, etc. The first site visit and initial consultation are free.

2. Site visit

We visit your site to gather relevant information, make notes on the project area and sit down to discuss your hopes and ideas in further detail. We can also review our process, thoughts and methods of construction plus answer any further questions.

3. Design and estimate

Once we have gathered all the necessary information and you have agreed to utilize our services, we will develop a detailed design. Our computer design can be as detailed as you wish, including everything from materials and measurements to plants and other products.

In addition, we will prepare an estimate for you within 7 days of our site visit. All necessary details will be included, including types of materials, installation methods, dimensions and depths, start date, estimated project duration and payment information.

If questions arise we will be happy to answer them promptly and at your convenience

4. Pre-Construction

Once you have decided to go ahead with construction, we ask that you contact us immediately. This will give you the most flexibility on start dates. We will meet again and review the contract. Once we receive an initial deposit, we can begin.

5. Starting Construction

Before construction begins, there will be a meeting or two to discuss and finalize various landscape design options, changes or additions. In addition, we will review material selection, other design ideas, delivery and placement of materials, material colours and patterns, and any other preparations that are required.

6. During Construction

This is an exciting time on every project, and it’s important to keep you informed on the project progress, get your feedback, and address any unforeseen issues that arise.

7. After Construction

In order to ensure your complete satisfaction, we’ll walk through the final project site after the project is complete. In addition, we’ll contact you within 14 days after the project is complete to ensure your new landscape is everything you hoped it would be.
